GAME SUMMARY: Tomahawks spoil Red Wings Teddy Bear Toss
HIGH PRAIRIE, AB
After coming off of a big win over the Red Wings last weekend in the Old Barn, The Tomahawks looked to do it again last night in the High Prairie Sports Palace. This was the tightest game that these two teams have ever played, which made it super special, but what made it more special, was the fact it was teddy bear toss night. Data on how many bears were thrown and how much money was raised has still yet to be released at the time of writing this, but there we definitely enough bears so that children have a lovable stuffed animal to cherish this holiday season. 1ST PERIOD
Usually the Red Wings score the first goal in the game, but tonight, newcomer Chase Fischer scored late in the period to give the Tomahawks a 1-0 lead, assists came from Parker Oliver and Carter Johnson. High Prairie answered about a minute after thanks to Andrew Gauchier, assists from KC Papastesis and Dallas Medicine Shield. 1-1 after 20 minutes.
2ND PERIOD
Gauchier scored his second of the game to make it a 2-1 lead for the Red Wings with assists from Hudson Chalifoux and Owen Paul. Kyler Morin tied the game 7 minutes into the period with assists from Bryant Joseph and Deondre McCarthy. 2-2 after 40 minutes.
3RD PERIOD
The go-ahead and game winner goal came from Brad Alexis with an assist from Chase Fischer! Thanks to Chase's contributions tonight, he received the third star of the game!
GOALIES
It's always a goaltending duel when these two teams face each other, which is why we want to highlight Brad Roncin of the High Prairie Red Wings in this segment, Brad played the full 60 minutes of the game, he faced 46 shots, making 43 saves for a save percentage of .935%. Roncin received the second star of the game.
Skyler Di Lallo played the full 60 minutes of the game, he was lights out, constantly battled for the puck, gave the team a big save when needed. Skyler faced 46 shots, making 44 saves for a save percentage of.957%. Skyler also received first star of the game on the GMHLnet website.
Tomahawks are back at it tonight against the Slave Lake Ice Dogs. It is the final home game of 2022, we look to pack the house as the Tomahawks look to go 2 for 2!
