RELEASE: Munday re-signs with Tomahawks, Takes more relaxed broadcast role
ENOCH, AB
The Northern Alberta Tomahawks are happy to say that our Goaltending Coach Connor Munday will be back for his third season with the Tomahawks. Connor enters his fourth year in the GMHL having spent the last couple seasons working with notable Tomahawks Goaltenders Alexis Alexander and Skyler Di Lallo. Connor was also named part of the coaching staff in last years All-Star festivities. in addition to calling the play-by-play for the game.
Outside of the Hawks, Connor serves as a lead instructor with S.O.S .Hockey training and the North American travelling goalie school Goalie Coaches. Connor currently serves as the Goalie Development Coach with the Enoch Minor Hockey Association, shaping the young goaltenders of the future!
Connor was also a instrumental part of our broadcast team, calling all the home games for the Tomahawks and is currently the host of the smash hit show TomaTalk. Unfortunatly, Connor will not be returning to the broadcast booth this season, but will serve in a assistant producer role and fill-in broadcaster.
Connor had this to say;
"I'm really excited to be back with the Tomahawks this year. We made a really good push last season and we have the pieces in place to make another run. We had solid goaltending last year and we can only build on top of it. I've met with the new goalie we drafted and i'm already in communication with the vets so it makes my job easier. Important thing for me is that we hit the ground running in training camp, start builiding good foundations early, so by middle of the season we only need to focus on eliminating small details. I'll be taking more of a lighter role when it comes to the media side of things, serving in a assistant producer role and fill-in broadaster when needed.
I'd like to thank Tayler McCallum, Dr Derek Prue and the Tomahawks organization for bringing me back for another season, and want to give a special shoutout to the fans of not only the Tomahawks, but the entire league for supporting me and the kind words as broadcaster last season!"
Tayler McCallum had this to say:
" I am very excited and happy to have Connor back this year. His contributions last season were greatly appreciated and key to our success. We are setting our goals high this season as a team and I know connor will be pivotal in the success to come"
